Safety Manager

Job Description
Hands-on position providing leadership and direction in all Safety-related situations
Principal Responsibilities
- Must demonstrate an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to Safety improvement with a sense of urgency. This includes developing relationships necessary to achieve rapid results as it relates to incident prevention and investigation. Also includes the ability to be a change agent, appropriately confronting unsafe situations and resolving them.
- Must demonstrate the organizational and follow-up skills necessary to achieve effective results in multiple facilities, achieving completion on all past corrective actions and plans for future improvements.
- Must demonstrate the ability to develop and implement programs and activities necessary to prevent injuries. This includes development and implementation of required training.
- Act as liaison with medical providers in worker-s compensation claims management to ensure timely employee return-to-work under provisions of Company-s RTW policy.
- Knowledge of worker-s comp claims management a must.
- Act as the lead investigator for each and every accident/incident and near miss situations that occur. Working with on-site Safety Coordinators when accidents occur at their facilities where applicable. For all incidents (Near Misses and Recordable Injuries), works with the management team to conduct Root Cause Analysis, develop counter-measures, and follows up to ensure that all counter-measures are implemented and all required training is completed. Also responsible for required communication related to incidents.
- Collaborate and supports Human Resources functions.
- Creates and supports a culture of Safety partnerships with all employees; regardless of level.
- Plans for and facilitates Weekly Safety Meetings; oversees completion of Safety-related projects.
- Provides daily Safety Topics for management.
- Conducts Safety audits and analysis and reports on any concerns.
- Conducts Safety presentations to management and employees.
- Conducts and coordinates Safety Audit Program.
- Coordinates, and where applicable, executes all required Annual Safety Training and Safety-Related certifications. This includes work with HR in implementing tracking program and maintenance of all related records.
- Coordinates and facilitates Monthly Safety Webinars with executives and safety personnel at all locations.
- Coordinate OSHA 300 log compliance.
- Provides Safety-related articles and information to Company publications.
- Performs additional assignments as directed by Managers.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Must be a driven, highly motivated individual with an attention to detail and have strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills is a must along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize projects is essential. The position will require 10-15% travel.
Education
Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety or equivalent preferred. Safety certifications such as CSP, PHST, and CMSP are considered a strong asset.
Work Experience
Must have at least five (5) or more years of progressive hands-on Safety Management experience in Occupational Safety and Health within an industrial manufacturing facility

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
